This is big news for fans of the franchise. It was reported by THR that Jurassic World 4 is in the works at Universal. David Koepp, who is the writer behind Jurassic Park 1 & 2, is writing the script for the upcoming film. He is said to be making good progress on the script and the film is being described as a new Jurassic era with a new story. The film’s script was reported to have been in the works for some time and stated to be in highly rated shape. No director has yet been attached to the film, but Frank Marshall, Patrick Crowley and Steven Spielberg are back as producers. No word yet on the characters from Jurassic Park or the world era would return for this film.
Although little is known about the plot other than it being a new era for the Jurassic story. One path it could take is following the ending of the third Dominion film. It could follow the story of humans and dinosaurs coexisting in the world. There’s also the option for them to go clean and start from scratch with a soft reset.
The previous film Jurassic World Dominion dominated the box office, grossing $1.004 billion on a budget of $265 million. Although the film was not a huge success, with critics receiving only a 29% on Rotten Tomatoes, it fared much better, with audiences scoring a 77%. The film was directed by Colin Trevorrow and starred Chris Pratt, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, Bryce Dallas Howard and many others.
This is exciting and exciting news for fans of the franchise. While it was known that a new film would be made due to the massive financial success of the last film, the film having an entirely new story is a shocker.
