5 New Horror Movies You Can Stream Starting This Week

Memorial Day is celebrated in a multitude of different ways. Like many other households, I have developed my own holiday tradition. It mainly consists of hiding from the sun while watching Nazis being slaughtered.

I have talked in the past about the genre of Nazism. But don’t worry, there are plenty of these movies to go around. So if you need an excuse to be outdoors instead of by the beach, try these movies.

Frankenstein’s Army

I need to give Frankenstein’s Army credit for thinking outside the box. We get Nazi scientists creating zombies all the time. What we don’t see depicted are Nazi scientists creating robot zombies.

Now, this might seem like a hat on a hat to some of you. That’s because it is. But that doesn’t make the finished product any less awesome. The second half of this movie is an overblown mess, in the best way of course.

Deciding to take all possible risks, Richard Raaphorst (Infinity Pool) decided to make this a found footage movie in addition to everything else going on. If you’re looking for some spooky popcorn for the Memorial Day holidays, look no further Frankenstein’s Army.

Devil’s Rock

If the selection late at night a History Channel is to be believed, the Nazis were up to all kinds of occult research. Instead of going for the low-hanging fruit of the Nazi experiments, Devil’s Rock it goes after the slightly higher fruit of Nazis trying to summon demons. And honestly, good for them.

Devil’s Rock asks a fairly simple question. If you put a demon and a nazi in a room, who are you rooting for? The answer is the same as always, shoot the nazi and find the rest later.

What really sells this film is the use of practical effects. The gore is a little light in this one, but it’s done very well. If you’ve ever wanted to spend Memorial Day rooting for a demon, go watch Devil’s Rock.

Trench 11

This one was hard for me to deal with because it touched on a real phobia of mine. The thought of maggots crawling inside me makes me want to drink some bleach, just in case. I haven’t been this scared since I read it The band of Nick Cutter.

If you can’t tell, I’m a lover of practical effects. This is something that Trench 11 they are doing incredibly well. The way they make the parasites look so realistic still makes me sick.

The plot is nothing special, Nazi experiments get out of control and everyone is doomed. It’s a premise we’ve seen countless times, but the execution makes it worth a shot. If you’re looking for a terrible movie to keep you away from those leftover Memorial Day hotdogs, watch Trench 11.

Blood vessel

Ok, so far we’ve covered zombie, demon, and worm nazi robots. For a nice change of pace, Blood vessel it gives us Nazi vampires. Not only that, but the soldiers who are trapped on a boat with Nazi vampires.

It is unclear whether the vampires are actually Nazis or just working with the Nazis. Either way, it would probably be wise to blow up the ship. If the premise doesn’t sell you, Blood vessel comes with star power behind it.

Performances of Nathan Phillips (Wolf Creek), Alyssa Sutherland (Evil Dead Rise), and Robert Taylor (Meg) really sells the paranoia of this movie. If you’re a fan of the classic lost Nazi gold trophy, give it a shot Blood vessel a try.

supreme lord

Ok, we both knew this was where the list would end. You can’t have a Nazisploitation exface on Memorial Day without including supreme lord. This is the cream of the crop when it comes to films about Nazi experiments.

Not only does this film have great special effects, but it also has an all-star cast. This movie has the main role Jovan Adepo (The stand), Wyatt Russell (The black mirror), and Mathilde Olivier (Mrs. Davis).

supreme lord gives us a glimpse of how great this subgenre can really be. It’s a perfect blend of action and suspense. If you want to see what Nazi exploitation looks like when given a blank check, check out Overlord.
