Dark Castle’s ‘Thir13en Ghosts’ TV series has been brought to Sony

Fans are patiently waiting for the new one Exorcist titled film The Exorcist: Faithful. The original film, being considered the “Scariest Movie of All Time” has a lot of hype and expectations surrounding it, especially since it’s a direct sequel to that movie and ignoring all the sequels. It was revealed today that the film is officially rated R for Violent Content, Disturbing Images, Language and Sexual References. The film is set to release on October 13 this year exclusively in theaters. You can watch the official trailer of the film below.

The Exorcist: Faithful Synopsis states “Since the death of his pregnant wife in an earthquake in Haiti 12 years ago, Victor Fielding has raised his daughter, Angela, alone. But when Angela and her friend Katherine disappear into the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it sets off a chain of events that will force Victor to face the nadir of evil and, to his horror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it: Chris MacNeil”

First released in theaters in 1973, The Exorcist would become a major box office hit and shock the people who came to see it. The film would go on to earn $428.2 million on a $12 million budget. It would be one of the only horror films ever nominated for Best Picture. It would end up taking home 2 Oscars for Best Writing and Best Sound. It would then go on to have several sequels, 2 prequels and a tv series on Fox.

The new Exorcist trilogy is directed by David Gordon Green and released by Blumhouse, Universal and Morgan Creek. The film is set to bring back Ellen Bursytn (The Exorcist, Interstellar) as Chris MacNeil. It will also star Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), Jennifer Nettles (Singer/Songwriter), Olivia Marcum (Matilda the Musical and Lidya Jewett (Nightbooks, Feel the Beat).
