Elizabeth Banks decided to treat us to one of the wildest movie titles, posters and summaries of the last decade. Of course I’m talking about The Cocaine Bear. This true story is one that has to be seen to be believed. But, the title is exactly what you think it is.
Kentucky 1985 was the time and the place. One really unlucky bear ingested a lot of cocaine that was dumped in the woods by a smuggler. Unfortunately, the bear died of an overdose, but not before going with a real fury beforehand.
Deadline synopsis for The Cocaine Bear is as follows:
“The film finds an odd group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers converging on a Georgia forest where a 500-pound predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and is on the loose, fueled by coke for more kick. . and blood.”
The film stars Keri Russell, Ray Liotta, Alden Ehrenreich, O’Shea Jackson and Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
The Cocaine Bear roars into theaters on February 24.
