Oh, how the mighty have fallen. But if you are Michael Myers you bundle up, zip up your overalls, and hope another studio picks up your story. And that’s exactly what it is Miramax made.
Conformable deadline, Halloween he is not dead, especially after the split David Gordon Green reboot trilogy that started strong but literally fell to pieces by the end. Miramax Television picked up the rights to this iconic slasher last year and plans to bring it to the small screen with an all-new series. And that’s not all, this could go beyond the small screen and become a cinematic universe.
“We’re on a fast track, it’s a big priority for us. We’ve had a lot of interesting conversations over the last few months with a number of really talented people, and I think we’ll have a pretty good idea of what we’re going to do very soon.” said Marc Helwig, head of Miramax Worldwide Television. “We hope to lock down the creative team very soon.”
The company also points out that they haven’t hired a writer yet, but they have an idea of what they’re going to do and it sounds like they’re confident about it.
“It’s a Big World” Helwig said referring to the current Halloween universe. That realm ended with Halloween is over and Helwig said they won’t build on that timeline.
“The base is the original movie, the John Carpenter movie, the characters from that movie, and maybe a group of characters that we haven’t really focused on in the recent movie versions or even a number of them.” Helwig said. “It’s a complete creative reset and return to the original film, as opposed to coming out of any of the more recent film adaptations.”
