Universal Pictures, Blumhouse Productions and Atomic Monster’s M3GAN went viral without even hitting theaters. The trailer launched all kinds of crazy goodies online. I mean, Tik Tok just lit up with people imitating the dance from the first trailer. Pretty much anything the killer doll does is pure gold at this point. So that train keeps rolling with the latest presentation. In this we see M3GAN sitting on a little girl’s lap. Obviously, we’re looking at story time or some such innocent innocence at bedtime. But if you’ve seen the trailer for M3GAN then you know he will either stab, dance or maybe run like a dog.
Synopsis for M3GAN it goes like this:
“M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a real doll, programmed to be the child’s greatest companion and parent’s greatest ally. Designed by toy company robotics genius Gemma (Get Out’s Allison Williams), M3GAN can listen, watch and learn as she becomes a friend and teacher, playmate and protector to the child she’s bonded with. When Gemma suddenly becomes the caretaker of her orphaned 8-year-old niece, Cady (Violet McGraw, The Haunting of Hill House), Gemma is insecure and unprepared to be a parent. Under intense pressure at work, Gemma decides to pair her prototype M3GAN with Cady in an attempt to solve both problems – a decision that will have unimaginable consequences.“
The film stars Violet McGraw, Allison Williams, Ronny Chieng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), Brian Jordan Alvarez (Will & Grace), Jen Van Epps (Cowboy Bebop), Lori Dungey (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ringextended edition) and Stephane Garneau-Monten (Straight ahead).
M3GAN arrives in theaters starting January 6.
