Takashi Miike’s new Hulu series trailer for “Connect” is a twisted serial killer story

Takashi Miike has long been on the warped and intriguing side of Japanese cinema. from Ichi the killer to The Lesson of Evil, Miike has made a name for himself among fans of the genre. His last entry, online switch formats from movie to multi-part Hulu series.

The story ties a serial killer and Ha Dongsoo together thanks to an eyeball that was taken during an organ harvesting attempt. This leaves the victim with the ability to see what the serial killer is doing in his most private and sadistic moments. Of course, Dongsoo wants that eyeball back. After suddenly waking up on an operating table following surgery, Dongsoo manages to escape without an eye, and later discovers that he can still see from his missing eye, which is now being used by a serial killer terrorizing the the inhabitants of the city.
