Hocus Pocus 2 magically arrived on Disney+ over the weekend, and it was a popular premiere, to put it mildly. The sequel to the 1993 Halloween classic brings the Sanderson Sisters back to shake things up in Salem. In the first three days of the film’s arrival on the streaming giant, it has already broken records for the most watched film premiere.

Synopsis for Hocus Pocus 2 it goes like this:

“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century sisters who were executed for practicing witchcraft, and they seek revenge. Now it’s up to three high school students to figure out how to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on Hallow’s Eve.”

The sequel brought back Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, Sarah Jessica Parker and Doug Jones as the Sanderson sisters and even Butcher Billy.

Overall reception has been very positive, with fans loving the film and in some cases some saying the sequel is even better than the original. I don’t think it’s better than the original personally, but it’s a ton of fun.
