Scream 6 comes and leaves a trail of blood along the way, according to Melissa Barrera. During a chat with Collider, Barrera went into some interesting details regarding the next Scream entry. Sure, we might not have Sidney Prescott, but we sure will have plenty of blood. In fact, Barrera told Collider that this entry is 100 times scarier than the previous one Scream movie.
“There was talk on set because Matt [Bettinelli-Olpin] and Tyler [Gillett] they always demanded more blood and more sweat. They always wanted more.” Barrera said. “With the last one Scream, were on their toes and trying to be very respectful of what the franchise had been up to that point and keeping their inner bloody dreams at bay. But with this one, they were like, “We’re giving it our all.” It’s potentially a hundred times more terrible.”
You know what? We think it’s a great moment. Not to mention, this is the first Scream entry to take things out of Woodboro. That’s right, y’all, instead of the scary, historically haunted small town, we’re going to New York for some Big Apple carnage.
Synopsis for Scream (2022) went as follows:
Twenty-five years after a series of brutal murders rocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, California, a new killer dons the mask of Ghostface and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.
Scream 6 is set to arrive in theaters starting March 10, 2023.
